Chapter History
Shortly after the University of Florida began admitting women in 1947, Delta Delta Delta took the initiative to establish a UF chapter on September 11, 1948. Tri Delta was among the first four sororities founded at UF and their first member class yielded a total of fourteen members, one of the largest member classes in comparison to the other established chapters. Since our founding, Alpha Psi has nurtured and sustained young women who have become successful all over the country. From that first year, the Alpha Psi chapter has continued to grow stronger each year by bringing more remarkable women in to its home.
For more than 50 years Delta Delta Delta, and the Alpha Psi Chapter in particular, has been dedicated to:
•Impacting and improving the lives of women
•Encouraging leadership in the chapter, classroom, and on campus
•Fostering friendships that last a lifetime
•Providing a chapter house that serves as a home away from home, living and learning center, and a proud symbol of our sorority
•Playing a significant role in the personal and professional development of its members in today’s world
